It will render your aligned audio to new takes of the selected items. Here again you can choose mono if you wish. Select the dub clip, and run the action (from the action list, or assign a key to it): "Apply track/take FX to items". Right click on the track header in the edit window, "render/freeze tracks", then render it in the format of your choice (probably mono, but check for the output routing/phasing issue and find your preferred way). To get the output from the plugin back to the tracks, you can: You just then have to remove the plugin from the track inserts, and reload it. All these bugs are not happening 100% of the time and cause no freeze nor crash. Also bugs with hiding the UI and reopening it, the waveforms try to rebuild when you play but fail, and output starts to crackle. If you listen to the result many times in a row, output will start to distort and crackle. Edit does NOT automatically replace the clip in the Timeline (like, as far as I remember, it does in PT). Use the plugin as it is meant to be used: capture audio, align, edit. As you'll be using it on mono signals anyway, it might be safer to just route one signal.

I have not had this phasing problem but just found how to make it work so this problem might arise. Adam noted that you had to alter the output routing to avoid phasing. So hit that "capture audio" button, press play, press stop, and bam, a perfectly working UI. Do not worry: it will revert to normal and work as it should as soon as you'll have captured the audio. When you load the plugin, half of its UI is white (as shown in Adam's screenshots), which is not normal. Reaper 4.30 OSX works with Vocalign Project 3 AU too. It really is helpful, though I didn't knew what to do after, to get the result back on the tracks.

I would like to add a "follow-up" and an update to this thread as it seems the most reffered to regarding Vocalign AU and Reaper.įirst, great thanks to AdamWathan for his tutorial.

This differs depending on how you have the input pins setup though, so you have to experiment until the output is what you expect.Īfter that initial setup it should work, follow the manual for the rest! Hope that helps, let me know if you have any other problems! So you have to set both output channels to the same input channel, ie 1 to 1 and 1 to 2 as well. You get a weird out of phase thing going on. For some reason, it doesn't like sending 1 to 1 and 2 to 2. It should work now, but you may have to alter the output pin connectors. Then in the Vocalign FX window, open the plugin pin connectors window (it's a little box that says something like "2 in/2 out" or "4 in/2 out") and make sure they are all connected properly (Track channel 1 to VST In 1, Track 2 to VST 2, etc.) Sidechaining in Reaper works differently, you have to take the guide track and create a send from it to the dub track, sending from channels 1/2 on the guide track to channels 3/4 on the dub track. Vocalign is tricky to use in Reaper but it can be done.
